Core and Intensive services to Workforce
Center clients, and services to eligible Title I clients
(unemployed, underemployed and dislocated adults and youth)
under the Workforce Investment Act. These services may include
assessment and testing, job search and placement, labor market
information, resume writing, counseling, training provider
information, assistance with financial aid applications, adult
literacy and skills enhancement, and access to assisted or
self-directed resource area with fax, computers, internet
access, and phones for career exploration.
Title I clients must meet federal
requirements under the Workforce Investment Act.
Adults must be legal to work, must be18 years of age or older
and low income. Dislocated Workers must be laid off; receiving
UI benefits, or a displaced homemaker. Youth must be aged
14 - 21, low income, and have at least one barrier such as:
basic skills deficient, school dropout, homeless, runaway
or foster child, pregnant or parenting, living in a remote
area, or be an offender, etc.
Title I clients may be eligible
to receive financial assistance for training in state-approved
occupations.
